Professor Maths
As part of our English and Maths Week Professor Maths visited Sirius College on Monday 11th September. All the classes were able to take part in fun “hands-on†maths problem solving activities.
There were many exciting and stimulating activities are set up around the room for students to explore. After a motivating introduction from Professor Maths, students explored each activity in their groups and at their own pace. Working together, they solved each mathematical problem whilst having so much fun!
“The Great Big Book Swap!â€
During English and Maths Week Primary School students took part in a book swap.
We brought into school clean, good quality children’s books to trade with each other.
Each student was given a token in exchange for a book. The tokens allowed them to choose a book on Book Swap Day.
It was a great opportunity to trade in old books for new ones and we had lots of fun choosing.

During Term 3 we have been very busy in Turkish classes.
A highlight has been preparing for our Primary School Concert held at The Drum Theatre.
Our Grade 4 students did a great job dancing to `Kizilciklar Oldu mu?` It is a Turkish folkloric music that is loved and played a lot on special occasions in Turkey .
Arabic
Wow what an amazing effort done by the Year One Arabic class. All students put in an amazing effort at 2017 Lower Primary Concert, I was very proud to see everyone’s amazing performances. The students performed three Arabic songs “My language, Days of the week and tradition Arab dance (Dabka) which they had been practicing very hard. In class, the students have been learning about pets in a fun and engaging way in the language of Arabic.
Well done for all your beautiful work this term 1A/1B Arabic class!

Year 7 Animation
“Cut It Out†Animation Sessions at ACMI
The instructors gave us some demonstrations and then we went off into our groups of five and created our characters and thought of our theme. Then, they showed us how to take the pictures for our stop motion animation. We had a great time. For our animation, we had a space theme with an alien named Bob. Finally, we learned to edit our work. We had a lot of fun.
